Antique Nippon Hand-Painted Teacup & Saucer Duo – Purple Roses & Moriage Add 20th-century Japanese craftsmanship to your collection with this antique teacup and saucer duo. Hand-painted during the Nippon era (circa 1911–1921) by Morimura Brothers (pre-Noritake), this set features a beautiful blend of florals and crisp geometric motifs. The rim of the cup and saucer showcase a deep maroon zig-zag band with white moriage dotting and bright gold gilt lattice windows. Below the border blooms a vibrant pattern of purple roses and green foliage against a white porcelain ground. The cup features an elegant, tactile swirled optic rib mold. Measurements: Teacup: 3-7/8 rim diameter (excl. handle) x 2 tall Saucer: 5-1/2 diameter Condition: Excellent antique condition. No chips, cracks, or crazing. Passes light translucency and resonance ping tests with a clear ring. Shows minor gilt loss on rim accents and minor shelf wear on unglazed base rings, consistent with age.
