● Features
Korotan is a palm-sized (300-500g) netted melon developed by Sakata Seed Corporation. It is easy to grow even on balconies and is characterized by its beautiful netting and refreshing sweetness. The sugar content reaches around 15 degrees, and after harvesting and resting for a few days, the flesh softens and the sweetness increases.

● Ideal for Home Gardening
Can be grown in pots or containers. It is hardy and easy for beginners to grow.

● Taste
A clean, mild sweetness with no strong aftertaste. The flesh is thick and edible right up to the rind.

● Appearance
Small fruits with beautiful netting patterns.

● Harvest Indicator
The harvest time is approximately 45-50 days after the female flower blooms, when cracks (abscission layer) form around the stem and the fruit naturally detaches.

● How to Enjoy
When the netting begins to appear, you can scratch the surface to create patterns like letters or pictures, enjoying drawing melons.

● Cultivation Period
Plant seedlings from late April to early June, and harvest from early July to mid-August.

● Pinching (Tekishin)
The basic method is to pinch the main vine and grow side shoots, allowing fruits to develop on the tertiary shoots.

● After Harvest
After harvesting, allow to ripen for a few days to about 10 days for even greater deliciousness.

● Small Bag
A photo of the variety will be included in the small bag for easy identification.
